Sonia’s Biography

Sonia Bot is the Chief Executive of The BOT Consulting Group Inc. She also is an accomplished industry presenter, author of numerous peer-reviewed articles, and an industry executive member of university and business acceleration boards. Before The BOT Consulting Group Inc., she worked at BlackBerry, Nortel, Bell Northern Research, IBM, and TransCanada Pipelines.

In her career, Ms. Bot has built five global businesses from the ground up. These ventures introduced wildly disruptive value propositions and were recognized as trailblazers in the communications, Internet infrastructure, wireless, and mobility industries. In addition, she consistently ranks in the top 1% of global corporations and clients for achievements in leading breakthrough transformations and turnarounds of CEO top-of-mind issues.

Ms. Bot holds degrees in computer science with systems design/electrical engineering (BMath) from the University of Waterloo and biomedical engineering (MASc) from the University of Toronto. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

I wish that I better understood the power of networking much earlier in my career. Rather than placing relentless focus on “nose to the grindstone”, also balance productive networking – together they are a winning formula!
