“My #AeroPassion is learning, exploring and transferring knowledge.”
Nasim's Biography

I hold a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University. During my undergraduate degree, I did a year internship at the Canadian Space Agency and spent training as Systems Engineer and Health and Safety Officer at Mars Desert Research Station in Utah. Following my studies I worked for Pratt & Whitney Canada as junior control systems engineer. A year later, I joined the Thermodynamics Core engineering team at Bombardier Aerospace (BA). I worked as Engineering Professional at BA during three years until the cancellation of the LearJet program. I enjoy doing yoga and am a certified hatha yoga teacher.

CS Canada provides design, development and testing expertise on real-time, mission-critical, embedded critical systems, specializing in conformance to DO-178B, DO-178C or DO-254 standards.

Deepen my understanding of engine functionalities, performing tests and integrating different systems. At Bombardier I worked with different aircraft systems and here I work with the engine and the overall control performance in sustaining the whole aircraft functionalities.

Safety of flight and benefits of doing yoga.

Women position has considerably improved today comparing to the past several decades. As human beings we all need to live fully, learn and grow. We chose to study in science or engineering not because we are women but because we like it. What matters is to find stability and have work life balanced that can help us grow in both personal life and at work. To support this balance, I continue in learning and teaching yoga while growing as an engineer and leader.

Happiness comes from inner self to outside, Herve Blondon, my Yoga teacher. Choose your path; don’t choose somebody else’s path. It is easier to put effort into something we like than something we don’t, Julie Payette, Astronaut.

Through outreach and professional development activities, research, partnerships, thought leadership and online initiatives, we work with industry and academia to educate on the value of diversity for innovation, to inspire women to thrive and to celebrate the contributions of women in science and engineering.
