WiSE Connect


Requests for WiSE Connect funds are now being considered.

WiSE Connect aims to:

 

1)   Encourage and facilitate networking, collaboration and sustained communication between organizations and individuals involved in WiSE initiatives.

 

2)    Support the participation of women of all ages in science and engineering as a means of addressing the underrepresentation of women in these fields at all levels.

 

Acceptable use of WiSE Connect funds:

  • To support participation in conferences, workshops and other related events
  • To support the organization of conferences, workshops and other such events
  • To facilitate networking, collaboration and sustained communication between organizations and individuals involved in WiSE activities
  • To support related outreach initiatives (ie: connecting individuals to mentors and role models)
  • Other initiatives which support the goals of the Chair for Women in Science and Engineering Program (CWSE)

Please note:  Priority will be given to funding requests which encourage networking, collaboration and sustained communications. In 2009-2010 a total of $5,000 is available. 

Proposal Requirements:

  • Applicant information Form
  • 1-4 single spaced page Project Proposal including:
    • a description of the proposed project and use of funds
    • an explanation of how this funding will contribute to the goals of the CWSE program and its potential impact
    • a detailed proposed budget
    • a description of how success will be evaluated (where appropriate)

Criteria for selection will include the following:

  • Receipt of a complete application
  • Involvement of resident(s) of Ontario in initiative
  • Contribution to the goals of the CWSE program
  • Potential impact of initiative
  • Preference will be given to proposals involving fields with significant gender disparity 

Reporting Requirements: All participants will be required to submit a brief final report that provides an outline of the project, use of funds, impact and evaluation results (where appropriate).
