Leanne Conrad, B.ENG, EIT, University of Guelph

Hi! I’m Leanne, that crazy person staring at you from the picture over to the right! If you’re wondering where that picture was taken, that’s part of my master’s research. Last summer I got to climb around big machines and track what it feels like to drive them and last winter I got to shake people on a really big robot while they told me what it felt like. If this sounds like fun, then you should join me and my friends in engineering!
For all you computer-savvy girls I’ve attached a video for you to watch advertising my walker which I made to help someone walk before the doctor would allow them to stand up. Sneaky eh?
Hope to see you at Go ENG Girl 2009! Cheers, Leanne

Emily Nichols, P.Eng., University of Guelph

Hi Go ENG Girls! My name is Emily and I have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Systems and Computing. This picture is from my volunteer experience providing earthquake relief in Peru (that's me on the left!). I helped to rehabilitate a water treatment plant, build a primary school and construct temporary shelters for people who had lost their homes in the earthquake. I have also done engineering work in two food manufacturing plants right here in Ontario!  How do you get wrappers onto 500 chewy granola bars per minute? Ask me all about it at Go ENG Girl!
Believe me, engineering can take you to amazing places to work on fascinating projects that help people! See you soon, Emily
