The Leacross FoundationImage result for leacrossfoundation.ca logo

The Leacross Foundation is a private Canadian family foundation that supports the education of women and children in Canada. Many of the investments of the Leacross Foundation have been in the STEM fields, and furthering education for women in these sectors.

Since 2006, the Leacross Foundation has sent over fifty girls to explore the environmental science, art and culture of the Arctic and Antarctic with Students on Ice, as well as training the first cohort of women electrical engineer technologists at Algonquin College through a consortium with Hydro One. The Leacross Foundation has broadened its philanthropy to women’s rights internationally, by funding programs with the Stephen Lewis Foundation, Médecins Sans Frontières, and Match International, never veering from using the gender lens in assisting women and girls.

The Leacross Foundation honours the efforts of young women and children who have the courage to step out and become better educated, and lead the way as advocates for a better society. To date over 500 women and children have benefitted from support of the foundation.
